Rangers: Danny Röhl 'totally convinced' squad has 'everything to move forward' in Scottish Premiership title race after Deadline Day

Rangers head coach Danny Röhl is "totally convinced" that his squad has "everything to move forward" as they prepare for a three-horse Scottish Premiership title race.

Röhl has been backed in the January transfer window with upwards of £20m spent on new recruits - should Andreas Skov Olsen's loan move be made permanent in the summer.

became Röhl's fourth signing on Deadline Day, following deals for left-back Tuur Rommens, midfielder Tochi Chukuwani and winger Skov Olsen.

Ahead of Wednesday's league visit of Kilmarnock, Röhl was asked if he believed his squad was now strong enough to win the title.

"I totally believe we can win a lot of games until the end of the season, but I can't give you a guarantee today that we'll win 14 games because there are still opponents," Röhl said.

"I'm totally convinced that this group has everything to move forward in these final steps.

"In general, when I look back at our window, I'm very positive about it. Not just the ins but how we handled the outs. We've reduced the numbers but increased the quality in the squad.

"The good thing is, we've signed players, not just on loan. That shows that we've also got a view for the long-term and the summer.

"It's very important that we make decisions together. It wasn't just about me or my favourite player. It's about how we can improve the group and so far I'm very happy with what we've done."

When the former Sheffield Wednesday boss took over in October, Rangers were sixth in the table, 13 points off leaders Hearts and eight behind rivals Celtic.

But the German has turned things around, winning 12 of his 16 league games in charge and cutting the gap on Hearts to just six points.

"They (Hearts) are very consistent in what they're doing," added Röhl. "Even though we've taken a lot of points and closed the gap, at the moment they have the advantage and are ahead.

"But we're coming into the final weeks, and we have a minimum of two games against them. That helps us and they have to play some strong opponents.

"We will see. You can be top of the table for 37 games but it's more important where you are at the end of the season.

"That's the mindset I'll go with in the last couple of months."
